TechnoK'NEX Computer Control System Benefits

  • TechnoK'NEX Sets contain software for both Mac and PC platforms. Weminclude both versions of the software in every TechnoK'NEX Set so you can use either or both depending on the systems you have.

  • TechnoK'NEX is a graphically advanced software, therefore, installing and running TechnoK'NEX on an old machine (or Operating System) may result in slow operation and response time. Although TechnoK'NEX was designed to operate on as old as Windows 3.11 and Macintosh 7.x OS, we highly recommend that you install it on as upgraded a machine as possible (at least Windows 95 or Mac OS 7.5) in order to have a more enjoyable experience.
  • Site licenses are NOT required for the TechnoK'NEX Computer Control System. You may load the software onto multiple machines so that many groups of students can work simultaneously with one package.
  • Procedures (up to six) can be downloaded from the computer to the Leonardo Interface. This allows an Interface to serve more than one lab group at a time. Once procedures are downloaded, they are stored there indefinitely for continued execution by the model. The computer is no longer needed to operate the model so students can operate mobile models without a wired connection.are not limited to operating models.
  • We recommend you use only TechnoK'NEX Motors with the Leonardo Interface. Using other motors may cause serious damage to the system.
  • TechnoK'NEX is designed to operate a maximum of 2 motors at the same time with the provided AC-DC Adaptor (K'NEX part number STA-4112C-9). In the event the system is used to operate 3 or more motors simultaneously, the Adaptor should not be used. You may use a different AC-DC adaptor, which has a minimum output rating of 12V/1A, and the same polarity. The polarity designation is printed on the K'NEX Adaptor.
  • Use the TechnoK'NEX Radio Frequency Transmitter to operate models remotely, without wired connection to the computer. Provides a great range of motion for models while receiving direct commands from the computer. When using the Radio Frequency Transmitter, be sure to use fresh batteries in the Leonardo Interface to maintain a flawless connection.
