The telecommunication trainer demonstrates the concept of Infrared, Laser, and Fiber Optics communication. It consist of A Transmitter unit,
A Receiver unit, and a Satellite relay unit.
The basic system comes with infrared and fiber optic communication.
The upgrade kit provides add on laser communication dish.
The transmitter unit is capable of transmitting Audio from three possible sources.
1. Audio jack 3.5 mm - For connection of audio tape, walk man, external microphone, or data source.
2. Built in miniature microphone.
3. Built in variable audio signal generator.
Using a selector switch, the transmission is routed via either an infrared/Laser dish (multiple joints for easy adjustment) or via a fiber optic link.
The satellite unit receives the audio (or data) from the transmitter and relay it (retransmit) to the receiver units. It is capable of receiving/transmitting either in an infrared/laser mode or in a fiber optic mode.
The receiver unit reproduces the audio (or data) with a built in speaker.
Also, capable of receiving either in an infrared/laser mode or in a fiber optic mode.
Volume adjustment is available in the transmitter, satellite, and receiver units.
The infrared dishes can transmit clear audio up to a distance of 20 feet.
The laser dishes can transmit clear audio up to a distance of 600 feet.
The fiber optic link can transmit clear audio up to a distance of 500 feet.
